WELCOME TO CROSSROADS FAMILY SERVICES

Crossroads is a non-profit Foster Care Agency with branches in Edmonton and Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Crossroads recruits and provides quality training and support for foster families. Furthermore, Crossroads advocates for the safe and healthy development of children in care.

This year we would like to extend a special invitation to the biological families of the children in our foster homes. If you have a good relationship withthe family of one of the children in your home, please extend an invitation to that family to attend our celebration. Special invitations will be provided to you to send to these families.

Awards Luncheon Celebrating our Foster Families!

Our families were honored by Minister Dave Hancock, MLA Gene Zwozdesky, Christine Sokaymoh Frederick and MLA Naresh Bhardwaj. The support of the Child and Family Services was represented by Russ Pickford, Director and Karen Morin, Sr. Manager of Kinship and Foster Care. Honors were given to foster parents receiving 5 and 15 year Milestone Awards and individuals receiving The Heart of a Champion, Lifetime Achievement and Outstanding Contributions awards!

Treanne Keylor with her beautiful voice sang two exquisite and haunting Aboriginal songs that were to honour the love and dedication of our parents.

The luncheon was full of laughter and a few tears as presenters shared humorous and touching personal stories about kids who need families. It was a wonderful event where we could come to together to celebrate succesful fostering and share that our kids can heal and grow best in a family. Our families are so important to us! Thank you for all your hard work.

We are so thankful for all who supported and attended this event!

Accrediation is done! Crossroads received 100%

November 7 - 9, 2011 was our accreditation review. The review team finished early - thanks to the excellent work everyone did to prepare for the process.  The accreditation team reported that they found our parents to be high quality people who knew their Policies and Procedures exceptionally well, our hearts glow with pride and we absolutely want to place the credit where it belongs, with our Foster Families!

The team also reported that it was refreshing to meet foster children who reported that they were happy and well cared for. The Accreditation team reported that our foster parent and our foster child files were the best-organized they have ever had the privilege to review. Crossroads Family Services shone in this review.

We have again achieved the rating of EXCELLENCE and were scored as being 100% compliant in every area that they reviewed!! The team leader from the Accreditation Council noted that in her 10+ years of supervising Peer Reviews, she had NEVER seen an agency achieve perfect scores across all three programs. Way to go Crossroads Families and staff!
