FOSTER PARENT BANQUET - March 6, 2009 "Angels Among Us"
Crossroads Annual Foster Parent Appreciation and Awards banquet was held on Friday March 6/09 at the Royyal Glenora. We were extremely honoured by the attendance of important guests who came to pay tribute to our families.
His Honour Norman Kwong, and his wife Her Honour Mrs. Mary Kwong attended, as did Mayor Mandel and his wife Lynn, and MLA's Naresh Barwaj, Doug Elniski, and George Rogers. We also had 3 players from the Edmonton Eskimos join us for the dinner.
The primary objective of our banquet and awards night is to highlight the “Positive Face of Fostering”. The event recognizes the outstanding contributions made by our foster parents to improve the lives of the children in their care.
Check out the "Events section" for some more photos of the evening. |
ON-LINE TRAINING: In September, 2007 Crossroads became an affiliate of Foster Parent College (FPC). Interactive courses allow foster parents the opportunity to learn more about specific problem behaviours & emotional disorders, and how to effectively deal with them.
These courses are free to eligible Crossroads Foster Parents, and count as Supplemental Training. Check the section on "Training" for more details, or call Emelyn to register. |
